A sky illuminated with lights, a night to remember — this is how Valentine’s weekend was celebrated at SM Mall of Asia (MOA) during the 12th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition (PIPC).
Fireworks lit up the night sky as the Philippines and Austria wowed spectators at SM MOA By the Bay. The event brought people together, including SM Supermalls President Steven Tan, steyrFire Feuerwerke’s Othmar Wagner and Daniel Schallauer from Austria, Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, Platinum Fireworks President Joel Sta. Ana, and SM Mall of Asia Senior Assistant Vice President for Mall Operations Perkin So.
The evening began with a fireworks display by Platinum Fireworks Inc., painting the sky with vibrant bursts of color and setting a magical tone for the night. The show left audiences captivated as patterns of light danced across the bay, creating a romantic atmosphere perfect for the occasion.
Adding to the night's atmosphere, Lola Amour took the stage with a soulful live performance. Their melodies resonated with the audience, enhancing the evening's mood with familiar tunes and heartfelt lyrics.
The first competitor, Team Austria's steyrFire Feuerwerke, delivered a striking performance. Each burst of fireworks synchronized seamlessly with music, forming a breathtaking symphony of light and sound. The showcase drew awe and applause as spectators watched the sky come alive.
The competition heats up The 12th PIPC continues over five Saturdays from 15 February to 15 March, with teams from around the world presenting their best displays.
On 22 February, France’s Luxfactory Fireworks and China’s Polaris Fireworks Co. LTD will take the stage. Meanwhile, on 1 March, the event will feature the USA’s Rozzi Fireworks and Germany’s Steffes-Ollig Feuerwerke, the defending champion. South Korea’s Fassecom and the United Kingdom’s Pyrotex Fireworks follow on 8 March. The competition concludes on 15 March with a display from Canada’s Royal Pyrotechnie and a closing exhibition by Platinum Fireworks Inc.
