Heads up Nintendo fans the widely popular hero shooter Marvel Rivals could be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 soon.
Marvel Rivals has been building quite the following in the online gaming community as the team shooter has garnered a substantial player base on platforms such as the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. However, gamers are noticing that the Nintendo Switch is not included in the hardware lineup.
Game developer NetEase initially stated that Marvel Rivals would not be coming to the Switch citing hardware limitations. However, producer Weicong Wu revealed at the DICE Summit event in Las Vegas that they are in discussions with Nintendo in bringing the popular 6v6 hero shooter to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console.
“We’re already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits,” Wu says. "Whenever we find that we could provide great performance for our game on Switch 2, we’re open to that.”
The new Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to feature enhanced processing power and graphics capabilities that can rival other fifth generation gaming consoles. However, Nintendo has not yet released any official hardware specifications. More importantly, there is yet no official release date for the next-gen handheld console.
Marvel Rivals is currently available on the consoles and PC platforms and the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch and The Thing will be added to the roster on 21 February.
