The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 (NS2) has finally been unveiled. With rumors swirling and excitement building, let’s dive into what we can expect from this next-generation console.
While the official trailer hasn’t disclosed many technical details, there are some confirmations about what to expect.
Some of the expected features include enhanced graphics and performance, allowing users to enjoy 4K resolution, as well as improved battery life.
The NS2 will be backwards compatible with original Switch games, making it accessible for users to enjoy their favorite games on the new system. However, a disclaimer said that not every game would be compatible.
Accordingly, there will also be games exclusive to the new console. As of now, Nintendo has only teased a Mario Kart game.
The new console’s Joy-Cons were also upgraded — from a slide-to-lock mechanism to a magnetic connection.
It will also continue to be a hybrid console, enabling users to play while “docked” to a TV or as a portable device.
Both the price and release date haven’t been revealed yet, but there will be more details on the scheduled showcase on 2 April.
