Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) — which has long been involved in gardening and greening its camp, headquarters and police stations — are now engaged in re-cropping efforts.
QCPD acting director P/Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. said the ongoing re-cropping of their urban gardens is to ensure a consistent supply of fresh vegetables.
Buslig said it also supports the urban agriculture program, which encourages each QCPD personnel to actively participate in sustainable farming while enhancing their operational capability in crime prevention and solution.
The urban gardening initiative was aimed at maximizing available spaces, while re-cropping, or replanting new crops after each harvest, ensures a steady supply of fresh vegetables for the command.
