The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has denied claims that Darryl Yap’s controversial film The R*pists of Pepsi Paloma is currently under review, stating that the movie has not been submitted due to incomplete requirements.
In an official statement, the MTRCB debunked what it called a “false claim,” emphasizing its commitment to upholding its mandate.
“Contrary to a false claim, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) hereby serves notice that the Pepsi Paloma movie is currently NOT UNDER REVIEW due to incomplete requirements,” the statement read.
The agency further stressed that it would not tolerate any misinformation that could discredit its role in protecting the public interest.
Meanwhile, in a separate legal development, Pauleen Luna expressed gratitude after the Muntinlupa RTC Branch 205 partially granted her husband Vic Sotto’s petition for a writ of habeas data against filmmaker Darryl Yap.
The court ordered Yap to remove the teaser video for The R*pists of Pepsi Paloma from all platforms.
Luna took to Instagram to celebrate the ruling, calling it a victory for their family’s name and legacy.
