Strong Group Athletics shoots for a third straight win in Group A as it faces Beirut First of Lebanon in the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship at the Al Nasr Club in the United Arab Emirates.
Game time will be on Tuesday at 1 a.m. (Manila time) as Strong Group gains momentum in the prestigious club competition.
Strong Group is coming off a 99-87 win over Al Nasr on Sunday.
Chris McCullough, who led Strong Group to the 43rd William Jones Cup title last year, once again showed the way with 31 points and nine rebounds.
Also joining in the fun were Mikey Williams and Dave Ildefonso with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
The Lebanese club is no stranger to Strong Group as they both faced each other last year.
Then bannered by National Basketball Association champion Dwight Howard and De La Salle University star Kevin Quiambao, Strong Group pummeled Beirut First, 94-72, in the semifinals.
Strong Group eventually lost in the final against Lebanese side Al Riyadi.
Meanwhile, the Zamboanga Valientes is competing at press time against Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya.
Zamboanga looks to bounce back after suffering an 97-82 loss to home bet Al Sharjah.
Sam Deguara led the Valientes with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds.
