The National Police Commission (Napolcom) announced on Saturday that 207 senior police officials successfully passed the Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE) written examination, which was conducted by the Commission on 23 November 2024, in Quezon City, Cebu City and Davao City.
These 207 passers are now qualified to proceed to the second and final phase of the PESE process — the validation interview. This interview is based on procedural guidelines set by Napolcom and will be carried out by a panel consisting of a Napolcom official, a senior official from the Philippine National Police (PNP), and a representative from civil society, the academe, or a national government agency.
The PESE examination has two phases: the Written Examination and the Validation Interview. Both phases include analytical questions that assess police leadership and values, designed to evaluate the competence, skills, and leadership potential of future PNP leaders.
According to Napolcom Resolution No. 2020-0892, only candidates who receive an outstanding rating during the Validation Interview will be granted eligibility in a formal conferment ceremony.
The PESE is a prerequisite for those aspiring to attain third-level ranks within the PNP, including Police Colonel, Police Brigadier General, Police Major General, Police Lieutenant General, and Police General, as outlined in Napolcom Resolution No. 2006-082.
