A person wanted for multiple counts of estafa was collared by elements of the Makati police in Pandacan, Manila.
Reports identified the suspect as Adrian Marquez, 25, who is facing multiple counts of estafa under Article 315, Paragraph 2(A) of the Revised Penal Code, in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012). Marquez was apprehended around 10:05 a.m. on 23 January at Jesus Street, Pandacan, Manila, by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Rainald C. Paggao, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court, Branch 142, Makati City.
The accused faces 24 counts of estafa, with a recommended bail of ₱18,000 per count, amounting to a total of ₱432,000.
Marquez is accused of orchestrating fraudulent schemes that financially exploited his victims.
The successful operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PBGEN Manuel Javier Abrugena, District Director of the Southern Police District, to uphold justice and combat financial crimes.
Abrugena emphasized that this achievement highlights the PNP’s dedication to protecting the public from economic offenses and ensuring accountability for those who exploit others for personal gain.
