“There was a slight altercation and it turned out that he was holding a firearm, while another was concealed in his bag," Arellano added.
Police recovered a .45 caliber pistol with two magazines loaded with four bullets each. A 9mm Taurus Millennium pistol with four rounds of ammunition was also retrieved.
A subsequent search yielded approximately 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱68,000.
The firearms were examined and found not to be linked to any crime.
Further investigation revealed that Jaysie had previously faced charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and was released just last year.
The suspect will face multiple charges, including violations of:
RA 10054 (Mandatory Use of Motorcycle Helmets Act),
RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act),
RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002),
Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Disobedience to a Person in Authority), and
The Omnibus Election Code.
