A 46-year-old Filipina from Rizal was apprehended at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on 17 January 2024, during a joint operation led by the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP), the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Quezon City District Field Unit, and the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Authorities confirmed that the woman was arrested for violating Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code, also known as estafa. She had an outstanding arrest warrant issued against her, with a recommended bail set at P2,000.

Following her arrest, the suspect was transferred to the custody of the CIDG Quezon City District Field Unit for legal inquest proceedings and documentation.

PNP-AVSEGROUP Acting Director PBGen. Christopher M. Abecia lauded the swift coordination of law enforcement agencies involved in the operation.

He emphasized the agency’s commitment to public safety and ensuring that individuals facing criminal charges are prevented from fleeing the country.
