YG Entertainment announced on Friday that it will close its acting management branch to focus more on music.
In a statement, the label shared that it had been "consistently working" on restructuring its business to focus on its "core operations."
"We are positioning 2025 as the inaugural year where these efforts will bear fruit," they said.
In recent years, YG has been steadily refining its less profitable business areas to concentrate more on music operations. The label has also significantly expanded its in-house producer team, growing from approximately 10 members to over 50, enhancing its production capabilities.
Accordingly, YG will bid farewell to actors and actresses currently under its management, including Cha Seung Won, Yoo In Na, Claudia Kim, Lee Sung Kyung, Jang Ki Yong, Lee Soo Hyuk, Han Seung Yeon, Son Na Eun, and more.
The label stated, “We sincerely thank all the actors who have been with us and fans who have shown them so much love. We will spare no effort in providing the necessary support until the very end.”
YG clarified that its lineup of actors and actresses will continue to promote under the company until their individual contracts expire. However, there will be no renewals moving forward, and the contracts will not expire simultaneously.
