Ryan Jara is a full time Filipino visual artist and painter with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the Technological University of the Philippines, Manila. His current exhibition, entitled Tagpi-Tagpi, Dugtong-Dugtong (Do Automatons Dream of Divinity) and curated by Normal Crisologo, is ongoing at Artinformal Gallery, The Alley at Karrivin, Chino Roces Ext., Makati City until 1 February. The promising artist’s masterpieces are captivating and fascinating statements of realities. His works go deep into semiotics as it echoes the religion, beliefs and being human or inhuman (artificial intelligence). Tina Fernandez of Artinformal said, “Norman Crisologo and I work together in the programming of certain exhibitions. We chose Ryan Jara for his strong visual narratives. This exhibition depicts a play between the Catholic faith and artificial intelligence.”
