The National Housing Authority (NHA) announced Saturday that it has turned over housing units to 23 Sibugaynon families in a ceremony held in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.
A collaboration between the NHA and the local government of Imelda, the shelters are part of the 55-unit San Jose Village Resettlement Housing Project.
NHA Region 9 Manager Engr. Al-Khwarizmi U. Indanan, representing general manager Joeben Tai, together with Zamboanga del Sur/Zamboanga del Norte/Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ZDS/ZDN/ARMM-A) Officer-in-Charge Engr. Jessa Consuegra spearheaded the awarding ceremony.
Imelda Mayor Jerry D. Silva and Vice Mayor Roselyn Silva, along with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, also graced the momentous event.
Mayor Silva expressed his profound gratitude to the authority for their unwavering support and dedication to the project. He underscored the paramount importance of these new homes to the beneficiaries, recognizing them as symbols of hope and stability. The mayor, however, stressed the importance of responsible homeownership and urged residents to maintain their new homes with care.
On the other hand, RM Engr. Indanan lauded the strong partnership between the NHA and the LGU of Imelda, acknowledging the hard work displayed by the two parties in realizing the housing project. He also assured the community that funding for the remaining units is a priority for the NHA, reiterating the agency’s commitment to addressing the housing needs of underserved Filipino families.
