The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) wants to simplify the talent identification of the government agency and the national sports associations (NSA).

PSC chairman Richard “Dickie” Bachmann said he wants to streamline the process for faster and more efficient grassroots development.

“I haven’t actually been talking about it last year, but there are a lot of NSAs already that come to me and show that they have already grassroots in the local government units, and PSC has already been supporting them,” Bachmann said.

“I don’t see why the NSA and PSC have to spend for grassroots separately. We should actually come together and spend for grassroots as one. They only just have to talk to PSC, show their program and then we’ll support them.”

This will help out each NSA in honing the best young talents in the country and focusing on the international stage.

Bachmann said he and the commissioners are just waiting for the final budget before plotting the PSC’s next major move.

“Once we get all the final budget, then we will actually plug into our matrix. My commissioners are already scheduling meetings with all these NSAs,” Bachmann said.

“Then they will actually give their programs for this coming year. By the end of this month, we also have a strategic planning session with all the heads of all our departments so that PSC is ready for 2025.”
