Officials of the Basilica Minore de Nazareno, or the Quiapo Church, along with Manila Police District (MPD) officials and other concerned government agencies, joined together to conduct a walk-through inspection of the procession route for the forthcoming “Traslacion 2025.”
The inspections were conducted on Friday, where several government agencies agreed to conduct a final walk-through inspection to ensure the smooth passage of millions of Catholic devotees who will participate in the long annual march during the upcoming Quiapo feast day.
In a final notice signed by Rev. Fr. Rufino Sescon Jr., Rector and Parish Priest of the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno, it stated in its invitation that as they reached the homestretch in the preparations for the Nazareno 2025, there would be a final walk-through of the Traslacion route. This was conducted on Friday at 5 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand.
It aimed to inspect the improvements in safety and security issues that were identified in the first walk-through and assess the viability and safety of the Traslacion on the planned routes.
Agencies that joined included the MPD, MPD Traffic, MMDA, Bureau of Fire Protection, Medical Component, Manila City Engineering, MTPB, Hijos del Nazareno and prayer station coordinators.
