The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines announced that applications are now being accepted for the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship for 2025. The scholarship is for Filipino citizens and covers two categories: Japanese Studies and Teacher Training.
Applicants must be under 30 years old by 2 April, 2025.
Must be currently enrolled as undergraduate students majoring in fields related to Japanese language and/or Japanese culture.
Should have studied Japanese language or culture for at least one year by 1 September 2025.
Applicants must be under 35 years old by 2 April, 2025.
Must have at least five years of teaching experience in elementary or secondary education as of 1 October, 2025.
Must be employed as a teacher in an elementary or secondary school at the time of application.
Application forms and further details are available on the Embassy’s official website. The deadline for submission of applications is 14 February, 2025. Only physical documents, either mailed via courier or hand-delivered to the Embassy, will be accepted.
The Embassy emphasized that the application process is subject to change under unavoidable circumstances.
