Stray Kids proves that eight is fate, as they break records with only eight days left in 2024!
K-pop sensation Stray Kids continue their streak of success as their latest album, “HOP,” debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 187,000 units sold.
This achievement marks their sixth consecutive No. 1 album on the chart, making Stray Kids the first act in history to debut their first six charting albums at No. 1 since the Billboard 200 began regular weekly publication in March 1956.
The group’s prior chart-topping albums include “ODDINARY” and “MAXIDENT” in 2022, “ROCK-STAR” and “5-STAR” in 2023, and “ATE” in 2024. With “HOP,” they surpassed the previous record held by the late rapper DMX, whose first five charting albums debuted at No. 1 from 1998 to 2003.
The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, including album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA), as compiled by Luminate, Billboard’s partner data firm.
Stray Kids’ historic achievement highlights their global influence and the growing impact of K-pop on the international music scene.
