  • American loaf bread brand Nature’s Own published a digital cookbook featuring sandwich recipes from kids.

The book was part of Nature’s Own’s Sandwishes campaign in partnership with Make-A-Wish America to give happiness and hope to children with serious illnesses by giving life to their imagination, New York Post (NYP) reported.

Among the enjoyable recipes in the book was leukemia-diagnosed Luke’s Mediterranean Magic Melt sandwich, featuring Nature’s Own Honey Wheat, tomato, feta cheese, buffalo mozzarella, Swiss cheese and white American cheese, according to NYP.

Other recipes using the brand’s variety of products were the Swiss Thunder “Herowich” from Nash, who also had leukemia; Green Garden “Glowwich” from Lila, who had a blood disorder; and Banana Boost Super Swirl from Eliana, who suffered from a kidney disease, NYP reported.

Meanwhile, a unique confectioner named Theo had been trained with the aid of deep-learning artificial intelligence (AI) to copy the baking techniques of culinary professionals.

Kobe, Japan-based Western confectionery manufacturing company Juchheim Co. trained Theo to make Baumkuchen cake, which took years to master, using the AI method, The Japan News (TJN) reported.

Theo, a robot, learned the cooking techniques of the company’s skilled workers using cameras and image sensors, according to TJN. Deep-learning AI then automated its skills.

Juchheim showcased Theo’s baking ability at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo and built replicas that the company loaned to about 20 businesses nationwide to fill a shortage of food service workers.
