A clutch bag containing valuable documents and P100,000 in cash was left behind at the waiting area of Laguindingan airport in Misamis Oriental Saturday.
Jonie Naldo, a personnel of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Service and Intelligence, discovered the clutch bag which was immediately examined by a K-9 dog in accordance with standard security procedures.
Further investigation revealed that it contained a passport, identification cards, a passbook and P100,000 bills in cash that belong to a certain Maruhom Mambuay, a resident of Marawi City.
Maruhom Mambuay, the bag’s legitimate owner, is being contacted immediately by Area Manager Job de Jesus of Area Center to pick it up at the Laguindingan Airport’s CSIS Office.

Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, CAAP director general (DG), encourages all travelers to double-check their personal belongings before boarding and to keep their valuables secure.
DG Tamayo said that in anticipation of the expected surge in passenger volume throughout the holiday season, all airports operated by CAAP are still on high alert.
