NEW YORK (AFP) — Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard and Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were among those named to the National Basketball Association (NBA) Cup all-tournament team announced on Thursday.
Antetokounmpo’s triple double led the Bucks over Oklahoma City 97-81 in Tuesday’s NBA Cup final at Las Vegas, completing an unbeaten run that included a semi-final win over Atlanta.
In voting by a media panel, Greek star Antetokounmpo and US playmaker Gilgeous-Alexander each received 20 votes and Lillard had 19.
Other spots on the select squad went to Atlanta guard Trae Young with 12 points and Turkish big man Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets, who lost to Oklahoma City in the semis, with six.
Antetokounmpo, who was named the NBA Cup Most Valuable Player, was also named to the all-tournament team for last year’s inaugural edition of the in-season tournament after the Bucks made an unbeaten run to the semi-finals only to fall to Indiana.
