The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has secured the approval of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for its proposed P2.59-billion Capas 230 kV Substation Project to manage the growing electricity demand in Capas, Tarlac.
According to a document posted on the ERC website, the substation will accommodate the increasing load driven by the connection of Shin Clark Power Corp. and other distribution utilities — TARELCO I, TARELCO II, and Tarlac Electric Inc. — to New Clark City, facilitating its integration into the Luzon grid.
The ERC noted that the approval was granted subject to optimization during the reset process for the subsequent regulatory period, ensuring that the project remains efficient and cost-effective in line with the Rules in Setting the Transmission Wheeling Rates and other relevant regulations.
