Fnatic ONIC PH became the first team to book a slot in the M6 World Championship final following a dominant win over Indonesian powerhouse Team Liquid ID this Wednesday evening at IOI Grand Exhibition & Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur.
The MPL PH Season 14 champion roster of K1ngkong, Kelra, Brusko, Kirk, and Super Frince looked as impressive as ever upon beating one of the tournament favorites Team Liquid ID via 3-1 in the best-of-five series.
With the Philippines winning the M-Series world title in the last four installments of the tournament, Fnatic ONIC PH head coach Anthony "YnoT" Senedrin says they carry the Esports hopes and dreams of the country on their shoulders.
"We have the whole Philippines on our back," YnoT said after the match.
"We do not want to let down Bren, Liquid [ECHO], and Blacklist [Internationa]. All of the strong teams in the Philippines. My players carry that pride, I am pretty sure they will do everything in their power to win."
The journey is not yet over for the reigning MPL Indonesia champion Team Liquid ID. The loss dropped them to the lower bracket final where they will face the winner Selangor Red Giants and Team Spirit on Saturday, 14 December.
The winner of the lower bracket final will then face Fnatic ONIC PH in the grand final where the teams battle for the lion's share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
