President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. led the ceremonial signing of two significant bills on 6 December 2024, at Malacañan Palace in Manila. The first, the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act, establishes safe shelters for disaster victims. The second, the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act, provides financial relief to students during crises. Among those witnessing the signing were Senate President Francis Escudero, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Senator Grace Poe, Senator Bong Go, and Office of the Civil Defense Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno, along with other lawmakers.
