The Department of Justice (DoJ), through its Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution, concluded the 2024 National Alternative Dispute Resolution Convention last 5 December at the Manila Hotel.
The convention, themed “ADR-Driven Governance: Better Access to Justice for Every Filipino,” aimed to promote the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in both public and private sectors.
Around 400 participants, including representatives from government agencies, non-government organizations, and private entities, attended the event.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla stressed the importance of ADR as an efficient and cost-effective way to resolve disputes.
He also urged attendees to utilize ADR to alleviate the burden on courts and promote public trust in non-litigious methods of conflict resolution.
OADR executive director Atty. Margaret Raizza D. Andaman highlighted the historical significance of ADR, stating that it has been used to resolve conflicts for centuries.
Undersecretaries Jesse Hermogenes T. Andres and Margarita N. Gutierrez, as well as Assistant Secretary Randolph A. Pascasio and Prosecutor General Richard Anthony D. Fadullon, also attended the event and expressed their support for ADR.
