Davao City – Some 140 entries are expected to compete at the South Pacific Golf Club Davao fairways for the 1st Ateneo de Davao 99Knights open golf tournament on Saturday.
The 18-hole individual stroke play will use the Molave Scoring System, with two double-barrel tee-off starts at 6 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
“As Ateneans, we are committed this year to give part of the proceeds of this tournament to the Tim Tebow Cure Hospital, where the majority of its patients are children with cleft palates, orthopedic deformities, burn injuries, and hernias,” said Marlon Kirk Galendez, tournament overall chairman, during Thursday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum.
Hole-in-one prizes include a one-year free green fee sponsored by South Pacific Golf on all par-3 fairways, along with another pin placement and merchandise.
The awarding ceremony will follow after the rounds.
