Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo expressed their sincere gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for the swift assistance provided to the over 2,000 families displaced by a recent fire in Isla Puting Bato, Tondo.
This comes as the President personally extended aid to the affected residents, providing them with much-needed relief.
“On behalf of the entire barangay of Isla Puting Bato, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to our dear President. We hope that you will continue to help us Manilenyos,” Lacuna said.
The mayor also acknowledged the national government’s prompt response and expressed hope for continued support.
“The City of Manila is deeply grateful for the swift and compassionate action taken by your administration in helping my constituents who lost their homes and belongings. May your good service continue for the benefit of every Filipino,” Lacuna said.
Alongside national and local officials — including Department of Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian — Marcos, Lacuna and Servo distributed food packs and cash assistance to the fire victims.
Lacuna assured the affected residents of continuous support.
“I always say that I will do everything for you, even if I have to ask for help. And as I promised when we first brought you assistance, we will be back,” Lacuna said.
