The donation to Butuan City marks Security Bank Foundation’s 741st classroom across 131 schools in 75 cities and municipalities nationwide

Security Bank Foundation recently donated a two-story, eight-classroom school building to Ampayon Central Elementary School in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte as part of its "Build a School, Build a Nation" initiative.
The school is strategically located along the national highway that connects Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Norte cities and municipalities, serving as a prominent landmark to visitors of Butuan City.
"We appreciate SBFI's generous donation as an investment in the education of the local community. We promise to fulfill our role in maintaining the integrity of the buildings with the same attention to quality that SBFI has instilled in its construction," said Dr. Minerva T. Albis, superintendent of the Department of Education Division of Butuan City.
The donation to Butuan City marks SBFI's 741st classroom across 131 schools in 75 cities and municipalities nationwide. After construction, SBFI also provides repair for buildings suffering from natural wear and tear or damage brought by natural disasters like earthquakes and typhoons.
"The donation came at an opportune time for Ampayon Central Elementary School as we've been experiencing the impact of the shortage of classrooms especially with the resumption of face-to-face classroom instruction. It is a great honor to be selected as a recipient of SBFI's generous school building donation program," said Rizza Fanree Vallespin, principal of the Ampayon Central Elementary School.

Besides receiving the school building, the school's principal and teachers are provided the opportunity to participate in the sustainable three-year training program of SBFI called "Mentoring Future Leaders for Nation-Building," conducted in collaboration with education stalwarts Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle Philippines.
Participants will be trained in transformational leadership, lesson plan development, engagement of stakeholders and more.
"Our Build a School, Build a Nation initiative was made with a holistic approach in mind. We construct durable school buildings designed to last for at least 25 years, train teachers and principals and offer scholarships. As such, we hope to empower individuals with the tools for success no matter their social or economic background," said SBFI chairman Rafael F. Simpao Jr.
