The Armed Forces of the Philippines on Monday called on detractors of the administration to spare the military organization from rumors of a supposed destabilization plot against President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s leadership.
In a radio interview, AFP spokesperson Col. Medel Aguilar denied that destabilization efforts are brewing among the military ranks.
"Wala pong ganiyan sa AFP (There is no discussion for a destabilization plot in the AFP). We can assure the public that we are solid and united. And we'll focus on our mission," Aguilar said over the DZBB.
"Huwag muna kaming idamay-damay sa mga iyan kasi (Don't drag us into such issues because)…it will not be good for our country," he added.
Aguilar said active soldiers will not engage in any attempt to disrupt the stability of peace and order in the country.
"We are confident that the military, the active military personnel are professional and will follow the chain of command," he said.
Aguilar stressed that the military organization is focused on fulfilling its internal and external security operations mandates.
