So soon after the release of his new single "Kanako," more good things seem to be going the way of SB19's Ken/Felip.
The singer-songwriter and rapper — Ken when with SB19 and Felip in his solo projects — appears to be gearing up for a collaboration with international record producer Hyuk Shin.
It was Hyuk Sin himself who teased the project via an Instagram post last 1 January.
"Amazing session with next international star from Philippines @felipsuperior. Stay tuned for what's coming next! @153joombasapl," said the post, along with a photo of the two.
Hyuk Shin's South Korean label, 153/Joombas Publishing, has written songs for BTS, EXO, Seventeen and GOT7. It has also produced tracks for (G)-idle, Itzy, IU, Lim Young-woong, Monster X, NCT Dream, Red Velvet, Stray Kids and Taeyeon.
Though there's no word yet on Hyuk Sin's exact collaboration with Felip, the pedigree alone of the South Korean label bodes well for the career of the Mindanao-born P-pop idol who has been making waves with his own music apart from the phenomenal success of SB19.
SB19 had previously collaborated with JVKE during the American singer-songwriter's What Tour Feels Like finale show at the House of Blues Boston on 2 September 2023. The boy band released their collaboration track "Golden Hour (SB19 remix)" in July, putting their own spin to JVKE's hit ballad by adding a Filipino verse after the chorus of the song.
JVKE, born Jacob Dodge Lawson, was also part of the Fast X soundtrack alongside BTS' Jimin, NLE Choppa, Kodak Black, Muni Long and Charlie Puth.
