The Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine Navy recently rescued two fishermen in Pangasinan following the capsizing of their motorbanca in the vicinity of the waters off Agno, Pangasinan.
In its report, the PCG said the motorbanca that the two fishermen were maneuvering was hit by big waves at approximately 30NM west of Rena Point, Agno, Pangasinan at around 2 a.m. last 30 December, resulting in its capsizing.
The rescued fishermen were identified as Randy Arbollyenty and Mark Kimber, both residents of Barangay Boboy, Agno, Pangasinan.
The PCG report further stated that at around 7 a.m., they were rescued by a bulk carrier MV WADI ALMALIKAT registered under the flag of Egypt while navigating in said area.
At around 4:30 a.m. on 31 December 2023, the PCG and PN received the rescued fishermen from MV WADI ALMALIKAT.
They arrived at Sual Fish Port in Sual, Pangasinan
Upon arrival, the rescued fishermen underwent medical check-ups and were declared to be in good physical condition.
