JVee Casio's rehabilitation from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee will be shouldered by Blackwater.
Team owner Dioceldo Sy said that the veteran guard's contract with the team is until the end of April 2024 and that Casio can still suit up in the ongoing Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner's Cup.
"He still has live contract," Sy said.
An arthroscopic surgery is a minor knee procedure and Casio is expected to recover.
"I'm not worried about the next games but I'm more focused on my rehab," he added.
Casio is the lone legitimate point guard on the team following Blackwater's decision to let go of veteran playmakers Rashawn McCarthy and Baser Amer, who are now free agents.
Casio has played five games so far in the Commissioner's Cup, averaging close to six points per game.
Since it has been eliminated, Blackwater has two remaining games taking place on 5 and 12 January 2024.
