A rider died Thursday morning after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer at the entrance gate of the Manila North Harbor Center in Tondo, Manila.

The police said on Friday that the victim, Francis Sepulveda, a resident of Calookan City, sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.

Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit officers reported that the tractor-trailer, bearing plate number CAK 4689, was queuing at the gate when Sepulveda's Honda motorcycle, with plate number 780 UQD, struck the back of the trailer.

The force of the collision threw Sepulveda from his vehicle, resulting in his fatal head injury.

The truck driver, a 37-year-old resident of Soldier Hills, Muntinlupa whose name remained undisclosed, was detained at the MDTEU.

He will face a charge of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide at the Manila City Prosecutors Office.
