President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on early Sunday morning urged Filipinos to go beyond festivities and embrace the spirit of giving and compassion during this joyful season.

"Every 25th of December, we remember the birth of Christ, a time to express gratitude for God's love through cherished traditions like Simbang Gabi, gift-giving, and family feasts," the President said in his message.

"But let's not forget the true meaning of Christmas – a chance to reach out to those suffering from loneliness, sickness, and poverty," he added.

Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of spreading hope and sharing the blessings of the season with those in need.

He added that there is no better way to celebrate Christmas than by bringing hope to those who need it most.

Marcos Jr. encouraged Filipinos to embrace goodwill, kindness, and compassion, not just within their homes, but throughout their communities.

"By extending our hearts and hands, we not only bring peace, love, and unity, but become living instruments of God's work here on earth," Marcos Jr. said.

The President's message resonated with the spirit of "Bayanihan," the Filipino tradition of communal unity and cooperation. His call for action could inspire acts of charity, volunteerism, and community service in the coming days, ensuring that the Christmas spirit extends beyond December 25.

Marcos Jr. concluded his message with a warm greeting: "Merry Christmas!"
