ILOCOS NORTE — The Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative Inc. (INEC), the sole electricity distribution utility in the province of Ilocos Norte, had its very first synchronized Christmas Lighting Ceremony after 52 years of operations on Thursday, 7 December 2023.
The event was spearheaded by its acting general manager, Cipriano "Perry" E. Martinez III, and was participated in by INEC's six area offices and one embedded power plant.
Each area office was given the freedom to choose its own design, which was lit up and seen by other areas during the date of the ceremony. The members of the board of directors having jurisdiction over the area were also present during the event.
A boodle fight dinner at the main office concluded the event. It was joined by Martinez and Atty. Nikki Pilar, a NEA representative to the INEC board.
Blasted by controversies before the change of leadership, the electricity distributor hopes that this Christmas may bring joy and hope among its member consumers.
