The local government of Cainta, Rizal is eyeing the construction of the One Cainta Rainforest, a recreational park for the town's senior citizens.
"We are in the process of acquiring a 1.4-hectare property. We will be implementing it already by next year," Cainta municipal administrator Keith Nieto said in an interview over the weekend.
"It's a big park for the seniors. There's a meditation area, and then an amphitheater for shows that we want to hold every Sunday," Nieto added.
He also said that there will be a concert at the park every Sunday.
The seniors' park will also have a cafeteria where elderly people can bond together and have coffee.
"They (senior citizens) will have the facility that they can visit anytime so they can man and support each other," Nieto said.
The park will also have a walking area for senior citizens, so they don't need to go to the oval anymore as this will be dedicated to athletics events.
"The way they do it in Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan — that's the pattern of our senior citizens' park," Nieto added.
