P-pop groups continue to dominate the music scene, scoring awards and achieving career milestones left and right.
P-pop supergroups SB19 and BINI were recognized as winners at the BreakTudo Awards 2023 in Brazil, an annual awards ceremony that recognizes outstanding talents in the music, television and Internet industries worldwide.
SB19 won the International Male Group award, besting popular western bands, such as 5SOS, Big Time Rush and CNCO, and K-pop groups like EXO, Seventeen, Stray Kids and TXT.
Moreover, BINI emerged as the winner of the "International New Artist Song Award" for their upbeat pop song "I Feel Good," their popular third single released last year.
For winning the prestigious award, BINI bested Bellah Mae's "Date Your Dad," charlieonnafriday's "Enough," Daniel Seavey's "I Tried," La Cruz's "QUÍTATE LA ROPA," Nico Valdi and Rochy's "Nico Valdi Produciendo a Rochy," Sangiovanni's "Fluo" and Zach Hood's "never knew a heart could break itself (acoustic)."
Besides SB19 and BINI, big names like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, BLACKPINK, TWICE and BTS' Jungkook and Jimin also secured awards at the Brazilian awards ceremony.
With BINI reaching new heights, the record label, Star Music Philippines, congratulated them on their social media pages on 17 November. The record label also acknowledged the P-pop girl group for their new song "Pantropiko," which clinched the first spot on iTunes Philippines Top Song Charts.
As of writing, SB19, the group's previous management, ShowBT Entertainment, and the group's newly launched company, 1Z Entertainment, have not yet reacted or responded to the news.
Recently, questions about the popular P-pop group's rebranding under a new name have been speculated and discussed on social media when all five members — Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin — removed "SB19" from their Instagram handles.
Moreover, Fusion PH Music Fest referred to the five members as "Mahalima" in a post on 9 November.
The P-pop group's previous management, ShowBT Entertainment, owns the trademark for the name "SB19" and the rights to their music. The registered trademark is set to expire on 3 January 2031.
However, neither the two companies nor the five boys have commented on the issue.
