Sinking in perdition
“As global anti-Semitism intensifies, the relentless, disproportionate, and ritualistic condemnation of the world’s only Jewish state at the UN must not be allowed since the double standard damages the UN itself.

The United Nation's role in spreading global anti-Israel sentiment is the subject of an ongoing inquiry in Capitol Hill or the American Congress.
It has a forthright objective which is to know the bigotry within the UN on the Jewish State and the relations between the Hamas terror organization and the UNRWA, or the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
It was apparent that members of the US Congress wanted to have a full appreciation of the UN in its actions amid its recent actions that align with the demands of the terror group.
New Jersey Representative Chris Smith, a Republican, had a frank assessment of the international body saying it has an "appalling record of targeting Israel while looking askance when it comes to China, North Korea and Iran, and other gross violators of human rights."
The congressman, who chairs the House foreign affairs subcommittee on global health, global human rights and international organizations, referred to the need not only "to awaken the world to the tragedy of what has happened (on 7 October) but also the complicity of the United Nations and its specialized agencies, including the UN Human Rights Council," Smith said.
Smith was convinced that "antisemitic bigotry" is at the root of the UN's hostility to Israel, which he described as "ugly, evil and manifests itself in almost every UN entity."
"The United Nations is unquestionably the world's foremost legitimizer of antisemitism, including in its most virulent and violent forms," Smith spoke during the hearing.
Turning to the UNRWA, Smith holds it accountable for its role in perpetuating hatred against Jews among Palestinian youth.
He referred to reports by UN Watch and the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School that documented the deliberate hiring of teachers by UNRWA who praise Hitler, glorify terrorist attacks against Israeli children, and spread antisemitic conspiracy theories.
Smith stated, "The UN often hides behind the veneer of legitimate criticism of Israel to promote antisemitism. UNRWA, in particular, has been criticized for perpetuating the conflict by fostering hatred of Jews among Palestinian youth through its textbooks, curricula, summer camps, and official media."
It was not an unsupported rambling of a politician against the multilateral organizations.
Those who keep track of the UN records on issues affecting Israel said in 2020, the UN General Assembly adopted 17 one-sided resolutions against Israel and only six resolutions naming six of the other 192 member states for human rights violations.
Around 21 percent of the resolutions adopted by the Human Rights Council focus just on Israel.
As global anti-Semitism intensifies, the relentless, disproportionate, and ritualistic condemnation of the world's only Jewish state at the UN must not be allowed since the double standard damages the UN itself.
In the portion of the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter, it was required to "develop friendly relations among nations," and to advance the "principle of the sovereign equality of all its members."
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said in 2019 that by spending an inordinate amount of time on Israel, "the UN is diverting scarce resources and attention from urgent international crises."
"Israel is still being denounced, treated in a biased manner and marginalized inappropriately in UN bodies to this day. This state of affairs is painful and unsatisfactory, especially since the UN is at the heart of the multilateral, rules-based order and vital to international security and peace."
The late UN secretary general Kofi Annan said, both Israel and the UN "rose from the ashes of the Holocaust," which makes it ironic that bigotry now dominates the agency.
The call on the UN is to stop supporting the return of the pure hatred that resulted in the murder of 6 million Jews in World War 2.
