GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A member of the Philippine National Police is now in custody at Kidapawan City PNP after he accidentally shot her niece over a petty altercation.
Kidapawan City PNP identified the suspect as Police Corporal Roy Solivia Mangue, 36, currently assigned at the Magpet Police Station, Cotabato.
Initial investigation disclosed that Mangue, at the time of the incident, was on a drinking spree when the altercation among his family members ensued.
The police officer drew his issued firearm and fired; unfortunately, the bullet hit the neck of her niece. The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but she expired.
Kidapawan City PNP confiscated the issued firearm of the suspect after his arrest. The case of reckless imprudence of discharge of a firearm resulting in homicide is now being prepared against the suspect who is currently detained at the Kidapawan PNP.
