Before we start celebrating and patting ourselves on the back, what, in fact, is the reality on the ground?

While the world seeks a lasting solution to the war against Hamas, the United Nations is providing the stage for the terrorist organization to block the path of its accountability for the 7 October slaughter of the innocents.
On that fateful day, more than 1,400 individuals of several nationalities were massacred while 240 hostages were taken, including babies, the elderly, and two Filipinos.
Israel swiftly launched military operations to hunt down the terrorists and dismantle Hamas to prevent a repeat of the carnage.
Still, the UN leaders kept harping for an immediate ceasefire as if they were wearing blinders that made them see the conflict only from the perspective of the princes of deception and Hamas and its cohorts.
As Israel's forces surround the Gaza Strip, cornering the members of Hamas who are mostly hiding in their elaborate network of tunnels, the UN suddenly cries for an immediate ceasefire.
Israel's Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan asked the inevitable question on the failure of those supposed champions of peace to get Hamas to surrender, while Jerusalem's Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said the terror group should be held accountable for the ongoing conflict, which is the root of the problem.
Belatedly, the bleeding hearts deplored the acts of terror perpetrated by Hamas and urged the Islamist terrorists to free the hostages taken on 7 October.
The Israeli diplomats are not appeased. Erdan referred to the "rotten morals" of those calling for a truce for their inconsistency, as they instead should be seeking the surrender of Hamas and the release of the hostages.
Any leader "who makes the false moral comparison between a brutal terrorist organization that commits war crimes and a law-abiding democracy proves himself to have rotten morals" and should immediately relinquish their position, Erdan said.
Cohen cited the plight of the hostages, which include dozens of children, some of them infants, on his social media page.
"Shame on you," he wrote, addressing the bleeding hearts. "More than 30 minors — among them a 9-month-old baby as well as toddlers and children who witnessed their parents being murdered in cold blood — are being held against their will in the Gaza Strip."
"Hamas is the problem in Gaza, not Israel's actions to eliminate this terrorist organization," Cohen wrote.
On Monday, the ashes of Grace Cabrera, a Filipino caregiver who was among those murdered with her 96-year-old employer, Aviva Sela, when Hamas terrorists stormed into Kibbutz Beeri, were brought to her family.
Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss said Cabrera joins the big Israeli family of "Victims of Terror" together with the 1,400 others that perished.
Her family will thus receive lifetime benefits and assistance from the Israeli government.
"Israelis consider all the OFWs who were murdered by Hamas as heroes. They are now forever part of our family," Fluss said.
He emphasized that Israel is at war with the terror organization Hamas, which is trying to destroy Israel and murder Jews.
"We will bring the 240 hostages back home and will make sure that the Hamas terrorists cannot commit such atrocities again in the future. We will protect Israelis and Filipinos alike," he underlined the goal of the Israeli push into the terror lair.
The bleeding hearts, in their call for a ceasefire, a pause, a truce, or whatever they term a cessation of hostilities, are seeking the most convenient path to salvage their credibility and significance amid the overall show of ineffective leadership during the crisis.
A pause will afford Hamas and its allies in the region breathing space to allow it to wreak havoc on humanity again.
