The Department of Migrant Workers reported on Saturday that around 10 overseas Filipino workers from Lebanon have been repatriated to the Philippines amid the tension between Israel and Hezbollah militants.

DMW Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo Cacdac said that the six OFWs who arrived in the country on Friday were the second batch of Lebanon repatriates.

Cacdac added that there are four more requests for repatriation out of the 26 OFWs in the West Bank that are now being processed.

"Two people were able to cross from West Bank to the Allenby Border Crossing to Jordan. Hopefully, more OFWs who want to go home will be processed," Cacdac said in an interview.

The OIC added that the lack of flights and delays in the processing of documents are among the challenges facing the repatriation efforts.

"We're finding more efficient ways to book those who have requested to be repatriated,"

"We hope to improve the system of processing the requirements to make the repatriation efforts more efficient," he added.

Cacdac confirmed that another batch of repatriates consisting of 23 Filipinos from Lebanon is expected to arrive in the Philippines on Monday.
