Mall sustainability tours kick off at SM City Baguio
Thirty students from the University of the Cordilleras College of Engineering and Architecture joined a tour of the mall’s eco-friendly facilities, from EV charging stations to bike amenities and a rainwater treatment facility

To inspire the youth toward sustainable living, SM Supermalls has entered into an academic partnership with top universities in Baguio City for a series of educational tours that highlight water conservation, energy efficiency and solid waste management.
The activity aims to build awareness among the youth to understand sustainability in creating a positive environmental footprint and improving the well-being of communities.
SM City Baguio, in collaboration with University of the Cordillera College of Engineering and Architecture, recently launched the Sustainability Features and Greening Effects Tour as part of its commitment to the community and the environment. The guided tour around the mall showcases accessible eco-friendly facilities that SM City Baguio provides, underscoring the SM group's commitment to empowering young students to dream big and to spread social good in their communities.

Thirty students from University of the Cordilleras College of Engineering and Architecture joined a tour of the mall's eco-friendly facilities such as electronic vehicle charging stations, a rainwater treatment facility, waste segregation bins, plastic waste collection booths, water recycling initiatives and bicycle amenities.
The Sustainability Tour is one of SM's numerous programs dedicated to helping care for the environment and promote sustainable living among the youth. Mall-based activities along this line include the Trash to Cash Recycling Market held every first Friday and Saturday of the month, daily water recycling systems, and environmental campaigns such as the Green Film Festival, Green Retail Agenda and the International Coastal Cleanup Drive, to name a few.
"Sa tour po namin ngayon, masaya po kami kasi mas nagkaroon kami ng knowledge na ia-apply namin sa aming course (With the tour we had today, we're happy to learn new knowledge that we can appy in our course)," said Environmental and Sanitary Engineering student Christine Ann Abalos.
SM's advocacy aligns with the world's environmental sustainability and climate action goals. SM Supermalls, through its initiatives, helps paves the way for a greener, more secure future by providing a channel for young people to play an active role in community and nation-building.
