Toyota Motor Corporation has announced that it is holding one of the biggest motorsport extravaganzas this August.
The event promises to be an exciting occasion for all automobile and motorsports enthusiasts.
Scheduled for 23 to 24 August at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival will bring together the thrills of racing and the joys of driving Toyota's renowned performance cars.
This will be the first time the TGR Fest will be held in Manila, as previous celebrations were usually held during the TGR races in Clark International Speedway.
The festival is open to the public and offers free admission, aiming to create a grand meetup of TGR drivers and fans. The event expects to stage the largest assembly of GR cars in one location, making it a significant moment in Toyota's motoring history.
Heading the event, Toyota Motor Corporation's chairman Akio Toyoda, who is recognized in motorsports circles under the name Morizo, is set to display his remarkable driving skills in Manila.
Morizo's driving exhibitions are usually exclusive to some of the world's most prestigious race tracks, and the chance to witness them live is a rare treat for Filipino fans.
Joining Morizo are Japanese champion racers from the Toyota Gazoo Racing team, including Norihiko Katsuta and Masahiro Sasaki.
They are bringing with them the legendary Toyota WRC Yaris and Corolla D1, race cars that have marked their presence on the rally courses of global racing events.
Adding local flair, Filipino representatives such as Alex Perez, Luis Gono, Marlon Stockinger and Ryan Agoncillo will be participating in a series of drifting and gymkhana challenges.
They will be seen behind the wheels of TGR's performance cars including the GR Supra, GR Yaris and GR 86.
Not just limited to racing action, the festival offers an interactive experience for all attendees. Toyota customers, fans and spectators can look forward to a myriad of attractions and surprises, such as the opportunity to ride with professional racers, win official TGR merchandise, and be a part of the national finals of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Gran Turismo Cup Philippines (TGR GT Cup PH).
