It took her six years but it was worth the wait for weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz as she finally graduates from College of Saint Benilde.
Diaz, 32, thanked the school for allowing her to be flexible with her schedule as she balances her training and studies.
The Olympic gold medalist recalled the struggles she faced juggling her academics.
Diaz received her diploma Business Administration, Major in Management last 22 July after six years of studying.
"It is hard to balance it. However, since Saint Benilde is really understanding when it comes to student-athletes, we were able to balance it, and we were able to graduate."
"I am already 32 years old and I was able to prove that, even though I stopped schooling, I can still come back, I can still study, and I can still graduate."
