For the past 18 years, it has been an iconic structure on that side of Quezon City. Holding its own against the looming ABS-CBN buildings across the street.

People would park their vehicles to have their pictures taken on its facade which served as an image of the show's enduring influence in local pop culture.

But director Lauren Dyogi said the Pinoy Big Brother House is being torn down.

PBB hosts Bianca Gonzales and Robi Domingo have also recently paid a visit to the place known as "Bahay ni Kuya" which they said was full of memories for them.

In an Instagram post on 13 May, Dyogi said the property is being demolished after the lease expired and renewing it would be "impractical."

"We still have the main PBB house and control room which hopefully we still get to use for the next PBB edition. This original house was built in 2004 and is 18 years old. It has become iconic and a landmark in the area," Dyogi wrote.

He said the place has been transformed into Pinoy Dream Academy in 2006.

"After 2 seasons of PDA, it became our House B which had our offices, brainstorm space, pantry, hosts' dressing rooms, mini studio with control room and living quarters, especially during the last two "lock-in seasons," Lauren recounted.

"This part of the house has lots of good memories and even scary experiences. It's an end of an era but hopefully we move on and find a better home in the future," he said.
