Presco Carcosia and Arnel Baconaje collide tonight (Sunday) for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation super-featherweight crown at the Lagao Gym in General Santos City.
The main event of Manny Pacquiao Presents Blow By Blow, the Carcosia vs Baconaje showdown for the PBF 130-lb throne, will feature up-and-coming boxers from the boxing haven of Mindanao and rising power Metro Manila.
Carcosia represents the powerhouse SanMan Boxing Stable of General Santos City while Baconaje comes from Elorde VSP Fight Team of Sucat, Parañaque.
"Once again, we are staging fights in the hopes of finding topnotch talent who I hope will someday fight for a world title," eight-division champion Pacquiao said.
"We are giving everyone a chance to make it big as this show will cater to all boxing stables across the nation," added Pacquiao, whose program is being backed by San Miguel Beer and televised by Cignal's ONE Sports every Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
The premier product of Blow By Blow, the country's top boxing show on television, Pacquiao is holding these regular fights in the hopes of finding the next Filipino boxing star.
With Mandaluyong City mayor Ben Abalos, who is a longtime Pacquiao supporter, providing a helping hand in keeping Blow By Blow afloat, the ring legend simply wants local boxers to get an opportunity to shine.
Three main supporting fights spice up the headlining duel between Carcosia and Baconaje while ten preliminaries beef up the robust roster of fighters coming from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
