Personally checking on the situation of fire victims in Malabon City on Tuesday, 27 December, Senator Christopher "Bong" Go urged Filipinos to help those in crisis through continued bayanihan efforts amid various challenges facing the country.
The senator, together with his team, provided much-needed aid and other forms of support to the fire victims. He also urged the public to be more vigilant against disasters and urged local government units to intensify fire prevention efforts in their respective communities.
"Let us continue helping one another. It's hard to be a fire victim. A lost life is a loss forever,"Go told the victims.
As Go had earlier successfully authored and co-sponsored the Bureau of Fire Protection Modernization Act, he reassured that the government is continuously working on improving the country's fire preparedness and response.
Meanwhile, the senator reminded the affected families to make health and safety their top priorities especially during this holiday season. He likewise urged those eligible to take advantage of the free vaccines to boost their defenses against Covid-19.
Go bared that he is pushing for the establishment of more Super Health Centers throughout the country as he seeks to further improve the Filipino people's access to government health services, especially during the pandemic and other similar health crises.
Super Health Centers offer basic services such as database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: X-ray and ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit.
Other available services are eye, ear, nose and throat service; oncology centers; physical therapy and rehabilitation center; and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done.
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, Go has supported the funding for the establishment of Super Health Centers nationwide, especially in far-flung communities.
