The Department of Labor and Employment-Bureau of Working Conditions revealed on Wednesday that at least 2,000 inspected establishments have been found being non-compliant in paying their holiday pay to workers this year.
DoLE-BWC director Atty. Alvin Curada said that the establishments tagged with non-compliance have been given a remediation period to settle their holiday pays to workers, while others are ordered to submit their payrolls for inspection,
"If proven that they haven't paid workers with their holiday pay, our regional directors will issue a compliance order, compelling employers and establishments to pay the computed holiday pay to affected workers," Curada said.
He reported 97percent compliance in the granting of holiday pay to workers this year, based on nationwide inspection with their labor inspectors.
