NBI reenacts drug lord execution

The National Bureau of Investigation on Friday reenacted the alleged execution of convicted drug lord Eugene Chua at the New Bilibid Prison as per the sworn statement of an inmate who claimed that several high-profile inmates were killed and did not die of Covid-19.

In a television report, inmate Rodel Tiaga joined the NBI Death Investigation Division for its ocular inspection in Site Harry, the quarantine facility inside the NBP where Chua was allegedly murdered.

The PDL alleged he and eight other individuals were transferred to the isolation facility on 23 May 2020, from Building 14 and showed the NBI agents his designated area and the portion of the room where prisoners involved in illegal drugs were kept.

He pointed to the direction of Site Harry and the hallway where the cadavers pass by when being moved.

Tiaga also recalled his conversation with drug lord Amin Boratong who also died due to the dreaded coronavirus according to the Bureau of Corrections.

The inmate said he asked Boratong why they are taking out the cadaver bags and was told it could not have come from anywhere since we're the only ones there.

He also averred noticing whenever someone is transferred to another isolation room, he never comes back and authorities said they were moved to an airconditioned room but there is no such facility there.

Tiaga said that even if his life had already been threatened thrice, he would not retract his statements to bring justice to the deaths of the high-profile prisoners.

He said those responsible for the killing of the eight inmates took advantage of the pandemic in killing those inmates as they were killed like chickens.

The NBI said it would continue to investigate and gather more evidence for the case.
