PNB credit cards scam? (1)
I ran into serious problems when PNB billed me in one day two separate transactions which they claimed I had with XENDIT somewhere in Taguig for cremation services which cost P6,000 each or a total of P12,000.

I decided to have a Philippine National Bank credit card a long time ago primarily because I earn points in every transaction which can be converted to flight mileage that gives me free or reduced airfare on Philippine Airlines.
Since July last year, however, I ran into serious problems when PNB billed me in one day two separate transactions which they claimed I had with XENDIT somewhere in Taguig for cremation services which cost P6,000 each or a total of P12,000. The spurious transactions did not only shock me but also gave me the creeps! Cremation? Two separate cremations in just one day?
I disputed the billing but PNB insisted it was legit because they sent me a one-time pin or OTP. I do not know what OTP is all about, Besides, with all the warnings about dubious posts on various platforms, I never open messages which I suspect might compromise my account. Truth be told, it was a Davao City PNB bank personnel who asked for my phone and searched for the message. I had never responded and PNB interpreted that to mean it was legitimate.
I reiterated my position on the issue citing the incredible assertion of the card company that I made an online transaction for cremation.
I do not know whether I would laugh or be furious for why should I order to have me cremated! With that predicament, I flew to Manila and proceeded to PNB along Ayala Avenue. I was told that the PNB credit cards office had transferred to PNB Macapagal Avenue.
At PNB Macapagal, I proceeded to the reception counter. There was a long queue, some were senior citizens like me. While waiting for my turn, I was eavesdropping on the conversation of those ahead of me.
Someone who told the receptionists that he is from Cavite complained of the same nature as mine although not about cremation. It was about a spurious entry.
Sadly, as I found out later, the receptionists do not even know the PNB credit cards unit is holding office there.
They glumly answered that they are not aware it was in the building. I noticed further that the escalators are not functioning and people are not allowed to go any farther from the receptionists.
Given the predicament, I called PNB Davao how and why cannot I talk to a PNB credit card representative
I was referred to the PNB Macapagal Branch where I told my story. The lady branch manager called someone on the phone but still, I do not have an answer because the credit card people obviously are either afraid of Covid-19 or just simply refused to entertain complaints.
