It was a balmy evening when guests stepped into Bulgari's jewel box of a boutique, immersing themselves in the timeless elegance of the Serpenti.
The stuff of myths and legends, the snake has symbolized rebirth, transformation, wisdom and eternity since Graeco-Roman times.
At the luxury house of Bulgari, the serpent's sinuous form has become an iconic motif that has inspired countless creations and evolving designs for over 75 years — from dazzling necklaces to bracelets, rings and bejewelled time pieces — since the Serpenti collection was born in 1948.
Over elegant drinks and fine nibbles, guests were presented with the newest creations which sparked an interesting conversation about how certain pieces of jewelry are often treasured, not only for their intrinsic value, but for the special memories and meaning that they hold for those who wear them.
By all accounts, the star of the night was the double-coil Serpenti Tubogas watch — a perfect fusion of ancient symbolism, innovative construction and contemporary design — with its distinctive diamond-set silhouette and flexible gold and steel bands that sensually coil around the feminine wrist. Whispers have it that this latest iteration of the Serpenti Tubogas had sold out halfway through the event, leaving a few guests to discreetly add their names to a wait-list.
Making sure that nobody went home empty-handed that night, Bulgari gave each lady a beautiful bouquet of fresh blooms to remember the evening by.
